How to Transcribe a Buzzsprout-Hosted Podcast Episode
Updated 24 Apr 2026 · TranscriptX editorial
Step-by-step
1) Open the Buzzsprout episode page
Podcast's show page on Buzzsprout lists episodes with a built-in player.
2) Get the direct MP3 URL
Right-click the audio player → Copy audio URL. Format will be buzzsprout.com/SHOWID/episodes/EPISODEID.mp3. Or grab it from the show's RSS.
3) Paste on TranscriptX
transcriptx.xyz → paste the MP3 URL.
Common things that break
- Private / unlisted episodes. Buzzsprout lets shows mark episodes private. Those don't appear on public feeds. The host has to publicize them first.
- Advanced-plan "Magic Mastering" effects. Doesn't affect transcription — just flagging it exists. Transcription accuracy is unchanged.
- Direct MP3 link expires. Buzzsprout sometimes rotates direct MP3 URLs. If a link stops working, grab a fresh one from the RSS feed.
- Dynamic ad insertion. Same as any modern podcast host — ads get stitched in at fetch time and appear in the transcript.

FAQ
Is this the same flow as other podcast hosts (Libsyn, Podbean)?
Conceptually yes — find the direct MP3 URL from the episode page or RSS, paste. URL patterns differ slightly per host.
Does Buzzsprout do its own transcription?
They partner with third parties for auto-transcripts (paid add-on). If you don't want to pay for that and you have a TranscriptX subscription, use us instead.
Can I batch-transcribe a whole show's archive?
Yes, on our batch tier. Paste one MP3 URL per line from the RSS feed. Large archives take time but the process is automated.
