How to Transcribe a Video on X (Twitter)
Updated 24 Apr 2026 · TranscriptX editorial
Step-by-step
1) Open the post in a browser
On x.com, click the post timestamp to open it as a standalone page. Mobile app share sheets sometimes drop context — desktop is more reliable.
2) Copy the URL
Format is x.com/username/status/1234567890. The old twitter.com/ URLs also work — X redirects them.
3) Paste on TranscriptX
transcriptx.xyz → paste. Short clips come back in seconds.
Common things that break
- Protected account. If the account is set to Protected, only approved followers can see posts. Our servers aren't followers. If it's yours, unlock for a moment.
- Age-gated (sensitive content). X gates sensitive content behind a signed-in adult session. Not supported.
- Deleted post. Very common on X. If the post is gone, it's gone for us.
- Video inside a DM or Communities-only post. DMs and community-gated content require authenticated access we don't have.

FAQ
Is this the same as Spaces?
No. Spaces are audio rooms — see our X Spaces guide. This guide is for videos attached to posts.
What about X Premium (formerly Blue) video uploads?
Longer videos from Premium accounts work the same — paste the post URL.
What if the post has multiple videos?
We transcribe the first video attached. For multi-video posts, submit each one individually by grabbing the video-specific URL (click the video, copy the address).
