How to Transcribe a Loom Video
Updated 24 Apr 2026 · TranscriptX editorial
Quick answer: Click Share on the Loom → Copy link → paste on TranscriptX. Works on free and paid Loom, on public and workspace-visible videos — as long as access is set to Anyone with the link.
Loom is everywhere in remote work. The captions exist but exporting them is annoying. Skip that step.
The 30-second answer
Click Share on the Loom, Copy link, paste on TranscriptX.
Step-by-step
1) Open the Loom and click Share
On loom.com or the desktop app, click Share (top right).

2) Make sure it’s Anyone with the link
Under Who has access, set to Anyone with the link. Workspace-only won’t work — our servers aren’t in your workspace.
3) Copy link, paste on TranscriptX
URL format is loom.com/share/HEXSTRING. Drop it on transcriptx.xyz.
Common things that break
- Workspace-only access. Switch to Anyone with the link, or you’ll get a 403.
- Password-protected. Remove the password for the duration.
- Deleted or expired Loom. Free tier cleans up after quota. If the link 404s, the video is gone.
- Embed-only share. Loom has an embed-only option that doesn’t produce a direct URL. Use the regular share link instead.
